The Finance Assistant will report to the Senior Finance Officer. The Finance Assistant is responsible for accounting and recordkeeping of STEPS Grant. The Finance Assistant is also responsible for applying Counterpart accounting procedures and processes while preparing Payment Vouchers. This Position involves processing of Supplier Payments and Ensuring Supporting documents are Adequate for the Purpose. The position holder prepares the physical files for all payments vouchers and Ensure all the documents are filed in a sequential manner for future Reference.


  • Manage Office Petty Cash Float
  • Follow Up and Ensure Advances are Liquidated in a Timely Manner
  • Act as Officer Cashier
  • Follow up with Supplier for Receipts and Other Payments Supporting Documents
  • Review Sub-Grantees Vouchers
  • Prepare Payments Vouchers
  • Prepare Correction Journals
  • Assist in Responding to HQ Voucher Review Queries
  • Any Other Duties Assigned by the Supervisor


  • University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is required.
  • At least two (2) years’ work experience in a busy finance Office.
  • Knowledge and experience of international donor programs is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of USAID rules, regulations, policies and procedures is preferable.
  • Familiarity with sub-grants management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and QuickBooks accounting software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local laws and regulations, like labor law, tax regulations, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, oral and written communications skills.
  • English fluency required
