Job Description

Mellet Enterprise, the leading manufacturer and distributor of soft drinks and mineral water invites applications from intelligent and self-motivated persons for the vacancies of Laboratory Technician tenable at our Production Site in Blantyre. Suitable candidate should have Degree in Environmental Sciences or Food Science.


Reporting to the Plant supervisor, the Laboratory Technician will be directly responsible for effective monitoring and control of quality during production.


  • Inspection of incoming raw materials.
  • Inspection of packaging materials in line with Mellet Enterprise standards.
  • In process analysis of products as per defined frequencies.
  • Analysis of finished products as per set standards.
  • Management of non -conforming products.
  • Implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Recording and reporting of test results.
  • Conducting sensory evaluation.
  • Enforcing compliance with MS 21 and good manufacturing practices.
  • Conducting hygiene audits.
  • Participate in research and development projects.
  • Recording and reporting process profiles.
  • Preparing samples for external analysis.
  • Attending customer complaints.
  • Be familiar with safety standards.
  • Willing to work on shifts.
  • Chemical or biological background.
  • Must have knowledge of production processes.
  • Knowledge of sensory evaluation.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices.
  • Serious and quality conscious.
