National Organisation of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi ( NONM) is an independent, non-partisan, non-govermental union and professional organisation representing nurses and midwives of Malawi. NONM's vision is to have a strong, vibrant, and visionary organization that will result in a motivated and empowered nurse/midwife. its Mission is to promote and maintain members professional interests and and socio-economic welfare to effectively contribute to quality healthycare services rendered to the nation


Reporting to the Project Cordinator, the media and Marketing Officer (MMO) Shall be answerable to the Executive Director

Job Summary  
The MMO will be responsible for media and marketing roles thereby contributing towards advancement of organisational visibility, public relations and sustainability through promoting  services and products to members, stakeholders and the public. the contract duration is 12 months with possibility for extension upon successful perfomance.


Roles and Responsibility

  • Identify and analyzeorganisation's strategic position in the operating environment;
  • Design innovative media strategies that shall promote NONM's image, visibility and sharing of information to members, stakeholdersand the public:
  • Develop and impliment strategies for promoting NONM's products and services for growth and sustainability of the organization;
  • Participate in the development media/public relations strategy seeking high-level placements in prints, broadcast and online media;
  • Coordinate public relations activities;
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests;
  • Create content for Malawian Nurse bulleting, press statement/releases, and key note presentations;
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation of media and marketing services and sales perfomance;
  • Prepare reports at monthly, quartely and annual intervals on media and marketing;


Educational Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Bachelors degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or Public Relations;
  • Not less than 5 years working experience as a media personnel/practitioner;
  • Sense of maturity and  creativity with exellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good presentation skills in both media and marketing;
  • Abillity to prioritize and plan effectively;
  • Awareness of different media  agendas;
  • Clean motor vehicle driving license.
