Job Description

Malawi AIDS Counselling and Resource Organization (MACRO) is a non-governmental organization that provides quality HIV prevention and treatment services to individuals, families and communities through static and outreach outlets in order to reduce HIV transmission and the impact of HIV and AIDS in Malawi.

MACRO is implementing the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) Project with support from FHI 360.

Currently applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to fill vacant positions in EpiC Project tenable in Machinga and Zomba Districts

Post: Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant (1 Position) Machinga

Position Overview

To support the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in providing M&E support to EpiC Project activities by working closely with stakeholders in order to enhance efforts aimed at reducing transmission and the impact of HIV and AIDS amongst the populace of the Project’s catchment area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To support all M&E initiatives for assigned partners/projects including monitoring data quality, tracking the progress of activities, and contributing to staff capacity building initiatives.
  • To contribute to the maintenance of the project’s M&E framework of assigned project areas, including the coordination of regular updates, data collection and quality assurance.
  • To support M&E Officer in creating a framework and procedures for the monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
  • To support the M&E Officer in defining and implementing the key project performance indicators as well as monitoring them throughout the duration of the projects.
  • To help in reviewing the performance of existing management information systems to help identify potential modifications or resources.
  • To assist in ensuring that quarterly data quality assurance (DQA), targeted mentorship and supportive supervision on documentation and reporting at supported facilities

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Information Technology, Public Health, Social Sciences or related field with special skills in qualitative and quantitative methods, monitoring and evaluation.
  • At least 2 years’ experience monitoring and evaluation and data management for a HIV/AIDS or any health related project
Knowledge and Skills
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, sensitive and genuine desire to serve alongside others
  • Knowledge of computer packages-SPSS, STRATA and MS Office applications
  • Skills in creating data base (Access/Excel)
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Chichewa.
