Reporting to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager an M&E and Research Assistant will support the M&E and Research Department in management of the M&E System for all programs and coordination of research initiatives in the Amref Malawi office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in data collection and perform data entry.
  • Assist in providing training to non M&E staff and partners as necessary.
  • Assist in data analysis and report writing, including providing feedback to project management indicating where project activities and interventions are falling short, meeting or exceeding the expected outputs, outcomes and impact.
  • Document best practices and success stories
  • Support in proposal writing�
  • Support in Amref brand visibility and profiling.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree in Public Health or Social Sciences with a major in Statistics or Demography.
  • At least 2 years’ of experience conducting research, including data collection, data management and analysis.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • The candidate should have excellent working knowledge of Excel, and have experience using
  • database and data analysis software like SPSS, STATA etc.
  • Excellent oral and writing skills in English.
  • This position is based in Lilongwe and it will involve regular travelling to projects implementation sites.
