Procurement Manager


We are looking for a dynamic candidate with significant technical leadership and management experience as well as ability to be compliant with policies and procedures that guide the department and who has a Degree in Purchasing & Supply or its equivalent or Masters’ Degree in Supply Chain Management, with 5 years’ work experience. Those with Finance background will have added advantage.


Some areas we would like the manager to have an understanding in are:

  1. Understanding of Malawi Public Procurement Act and Regulations.
  2. Extensive experience in procurement management and understanding environment of the cooperating partners, health public sector, NGOs and private sector.
  3. Clear understanding of the Social-Economic fabric of the Country.
  4. Good grasp of general procurement including procurement of medical supplies and equipment.
  5. Have to understand different donor requirements and procedures.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  7. Risk analysis (need to understand the rules and regulations and policies).
  8. Understanding of Internal controls including introduction of Innovative ways of closing the loop on fraud and unethical behaviours.
  9. Be self-starter, effective team player who can demonstrate verifiable result-oriented track record.
