Job Description

World Relief is an international Christian NGO working in health, economic development, disaster response, and refugee resettlement. World Relief`s mission is empowering local churches to serve the most vulnerable.

World Relief Malawi is implementing a USAID funded SCOPE project which seeks to use and improve existing private and public health systems, working systems, working with health service providers to co-train community health actors and strengthen policies to improve access to services.

World Relief Malawi, through the SCOPE project, collaborates with key stakeholders to reduce preventable maternal health and child morbidity by increasing utilization of reproductive health services for women of reproductive age and utilization of primary health care services by under five children.

World Relief Malawi, therefore invites applications from interested and qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions:

Job Title : Project Supervisors – (16 Positions)

Reports to : Project Coordinator

Location : Lilongwe/Machinga

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Program coordinator, the Project Supervisor will be responsible for community mobilization and awareness creation and delivery of SCOPE Project interventions. The Project Supervisor will work with project committees in their assigned Traditional Authorities to ensure implementation of project activities.

Specific Functions

  • Facilitate community mobilization and project awareness creation to ensure effective roll out of project interventions.
  • Facilitate identification of Community Volunteers and Community Health Workers.
  • Assist the in planning and coordinating project activities and provide mentorship and technical assistance to community Volunteers and Community Health Workers.
  • Facilitating trainings of Frontlines workers and offer support to rolling out of trainings.
  • Ensure program quality through regular monitoring of activities and ensuring compliance to standard procedures.
  • Collaborate with the DHO through Health Centre personnel to implement bi-annual Child Health Days.
  • Support promoter and Cluste4r leaders in development of bi-weekly activity plans and reports.
  • Collaborate with and support interventions carried out at a community level.
  • Ensure that community mentors and Cluster Leaders have necessary tools to facilitate their work.
  • Participate in review meetings and M&E activities.
  • Ensure Monthly reports, budgets and indicator Performance Tracking Tables are completed and submitted to the project coordinator for consolidation.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma in Nursing/ Public Health/ Rural development
  • At least minimum of three (3) years practical experience in public health with communities.
  • Good working experience in Community mobilization and participatory rural appraisal.
  • Good budgeting and reporting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literacy.
  • Commitment to World Relief values.
