Solarafrica Ltd is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant position:



POSITION: Stores Officer




The Stores Officer will be required to work with the Company accountant and Technical supervisor to ensure the correct materials and products are available when needed, in the appropriate location and at the appropriate time through proactive stores processes. He/ She will also be responsible for the security of the stores area and all stock and materials held. To ensure stock items held meet the requirements and specifications to meet operational demand and to liaise with management to ensure that trends are accommodated within the min – max criteria and ensure the efficient use of imprest stock by providing regular performance reports.      


Stores Officer Responsibilities:


  • Undertake the day to day supervision of the stores services.
  • Ensure the integrity of the stores area is maintained at all times and that stock is always under lock and key and accounted for.
  • Work with the Company accountant to provide all necessary documents of stock movement to be entered in sage.
  • Follow up on stock that has long been taken out of stores but not reflecting in the system as sold.
  • Ensure arrangements for delivery or collection of materials at the agreed time.
  • Ensure accurate accountability of all transactions to and from the stores.
  • Performing stock costing and valuation on given intervals.
  • Raise purchase orders for products and materials in line with procedures, standing orders and financial regulations.
  • Facilitate periodic checks of the quantities of products and materials held in stock.
  • Manage the use of all installation equipment and hand tools servicing, repair and maintaining inventory, and replenishment accountability.
  • Ensure the stores area is kept clean and tidy and free from hazards.
  • Ensure proper tagging of identification slips and bin cards of each item.
  • Inspect products received from suppliers with respect to quality and quantity.
  • Compile reports on various aspects of changes in inventory.


Account Coordinator Requirements:

  • Diploma in CIPS or its equivalent.
  • Those with a background in Accounting will have an added advantage.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Exceptional presentation and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with MS Office.
  • High level of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Technical knowledge associated with domestic Repairs & Maintenance of products, safe packaging, storage and handling and application of multi skilled resources.
  •  Financial awareness of cost and income comparison and ability to identify and recommend Value for Money improvements. 
  •  Experience of working alone and flexibly as part of a team.
  •  Organizational and planning skills and ability to prioritize workloads.
  •  Ability to multi task.
  • Strictly a self starter.
