Job Description

Bishop Mackenzie International School currently has an opportunity for an Assistant Cleaning Supervisor to join our team. The primary component of this role is to supervise the day and evening shift cleaning teams in performing cleaning duties and associated tasks.


General Responsibilities 

  • Liaise with the Senior Super visor on a daily basis regarding current tasks, and assist in the planning of future tasks
  • Ensure ail assigned duties are carried out, and that resources are efficiently utilized
  • Ensure that the school’s policies and procedures are adhered to by staff
  • Maintain and control use of stock, equipment and consumables
  • Timeously request purchase of consumables, equipment and materials
  • Monitor and report absenteeism
  • Actively promote Health and Safety, and report any breach
  • Ensure that all staff wear all appropriate personal protective clothing and equipment
  • Where required, gather and provide information on a regular basis, including schedules, consumable issues and usage
  • Prepare overtime rosters
  • Check all equipment that require replacement items as needed
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are met and maintained in all facilities, and report shortcomings/faults.


Required Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • MSCE plus Housekeeping Certificate
  • Previous hands-on experience in a cleaning environment
  • Previous experience of managing a team
  • Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products.
  • Physically fit – the role requires walking, lifting, bending and other physical abilities
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Have a valid driving licence with 5 years experience.
  • Computer literacy will have an added advantage.
