The Roads Authority (RA) was established in 2006 through an Act of Parliament. it is mandated to ensure that public roads are constructed, maintained or rehabilitated at all times; and advise the Minister of Transport and Public Works and, where appropriate, the Minister for Local Government on the preparation and the efficient and effective implementation of the Annual National Roads Programme. Following a recent organisational review which the institution underwent, some new positions have been identified.
