WM Malawi is inviting suitable applications to fill the above vacant post tenable at the Lilongwe Office


The Community Development Officer is a key player in ensuring the success and sustainability of Water Mission Projects. This is an excellent position for an individual with competence in social science, community development expertise.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitating in the development and implementation of sustainability processes for WM safe water projects
  • Setting up and training of safe water committees
  • Reporting, monitoring and evaluating procedures for safe water committees in communities
  • Providing timely, professional and courteous communication through appropriate channels
  • Maintain WM Reporting Data Base in correct and up to date manner
  • Teaching Health and Hygiene and/or Micro-enterprise to safe water targeted households
  • Assisting in completing projects according to scope, schedule and budget
  • Maintaining good record keeping in accordance with program guidelines
  • Carrying out assessments in a timely and efficient manner
  • Performing any other duties assigned from time to time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Social Science, Community Development or Education
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in WASH sector or Community Development Advanced skills with MS Office computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and indigenous languages)
  • Professing testimony of Christian conversion and belonging to a Christ Centered Church
  • A clear calling to Christian service and integral mission
  • High level of impeccable integrity, stewardship and team player
  • Excellent, analytical skills
  • Excellent participatory facilitation skills
  • Excellent team building and relationship skills.
