POSITION: COMPENSATION & BENEFITS MANAGER



The successful applicant will report to the Human Resources Director.

Key responsibilities and capability framework


HR SERVICES, SYSTEMS AND DATA

  • SAGE 300 administration,
  • Delivery of reliable Information Systems, underpinned by necessary capability for business information using systems and technology as enablers,
  • Data management, integrity and governance,data consolidation, interpretation, visualisation, and insights,
  • People metrics and standardised reporting capability, including trends and forecasts,
  • Data-driven predictions and insights that lead to business decisions and which impact on performance,
  • Benchmarking and HR audit capability.

STAFF COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Management of reward and remuneration systems, reward frameworks, tools and solutions,
  • Represents AOTM in National Salary surveys to ensure AOTM remuneration is equitable, competitive and market related,
  • Administers staff pension, Group Life Cover & Medical Insurance,
  • Prepares schedules used for annual salary and wage increase review processes,
  • Monitors the payroll interface on all staff compensation to ensure compliance and data Integrity.

STAFF COMPLEMENTS
  • Compiles and keeps custody of departmental complement plans (establishments & headcount) in liaison with HODs and depositing approved lists to Finance inform of Annual Operating Plans,
  • Produces and updates organizational charts and headcount details for all departments based on company Authorized Establishment,
  • Updates AOTM head count figures and organizational charts on the AOI intranet,
  • Reviews departmental job functions and organizational structures in liaison with the HRD for presentation to the Board.

HUMAN CAPITAL BUDGETING/COSTING
  • Prepares annual labour budget in liaison with line management followed by quarterly budget reforecast when needed,
  • Consolidates and monitors Human Resources capital expenditure requirements and utilization of budgeted funds,
  • Completes & presents annual PPE budgets.

WAGES AND PAYROLL PROCESSES ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Supervises Wages personnel and staff payroll processing,
  • Compiles schedules & prepares payment input data for approvals,
  • Manages interface with accounts and financial institutions.

OPERATIONAL PROCESSES ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Supervises Wages and the Computerised Time Management System operations and Access System operations,
  • Labour cost optimisation and labour productivity,
  • Oversees maintenance of Human Resources Records System and databases,
  • Supervises the production of departmental reports and data analysis,
  • Supports STP Steering Committee coordination and STP guidelines referring to Terms of Employment & Labour Codes & Conventions.

Qualifications & Experience

To qualify:
  • You must be number savvy with a Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline (Statistics, Economics, Accountancy, Business Administration) obtained from a recognised University.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • proven statistical acumen and analytical skills,
  • reasonable economic and accounting knowledge,
  • advanced computer skills, sound knowledge of labour laws plus technical and practical knowledge of compensation and benefits as practiced in a business environment of similar repute.
