Job Description

FINCOOP Savings and Credit cooperative limited a member owned, democratically controlled financial cooperative serving micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, farmers and salaried employees. Intends to recruit suitably qualified, result oriented and experience people to fill as follows:

Position: Field Officer (1 position)

Under FARMSE project. The post is tenable in Blantyre.The ideal candidate must be a team worker, trustworthy, accoutantable, able to cope with pressure of work and must be a self starter. The successful persons will be responsible for the following amongst other things.

Key Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Working with our development partners on Linkage of Village Savings and Loans associations, Cooperatives and Rural SMEs to FINCOOP SACCO
  • Managing relationships with implementing partners at district levels.
  • Manage member relationship
  • Act As Marketing Agent For Other Fincoop Products And Services
  • Process And Administer Loans
  • Monitor Loans to Ensure Portfolio At Risk Stays Within Target

  • Diploma in Community development, Agriculture and any a business related course from a reputable examining body.
  • Demonstrate experience in working with the rural communities mainly mobilizing VSLAs
  • Basic experience credit analysis and loan portfolio management.
  • Good mathematical skills, ability to calculate interest, commissions, percentages etc
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic skills in computer operation, word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Must have a Motor bike riding license
