Position: Gender Empowerment and Social Inclusion Officer (Grade 14)- I



Position Based at National Office

Purpose of the position

The Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Officer works to provide technical support in the designing, planning and implementation of a gender, socially inclusive THRIVE programming advocating for favorable policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides overall technical support and advocacy for programmatic activities to support women’s participation and inclusion of vulnerable groups.
  • Networks and liaises with members of the government, civil society organizations (especially disabled peoples organizations and women’s groups), international and national NGOs.
  • Contributes to development of annual work plans, performance monitoring systems and tools, and write progress, and final program reports.
  • Designs women-focused and disability inclusive program activities that are technically sound and effectively address the needs of ALL project participants.
  • Coordinates with and support the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to establish and implement GESI – sensitive monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems, including working with the M&E team to ensure data is sex, age, and disability dis-aggregated and analyzed regularly.
  • Orients and trains project staff on gender integration/social inclusion sensitivity and approaches.

Qualifications

Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Gender Studies, Social Science, Economic or International Development
  • At least 5 years of experience in gender, social inclusion and programming.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing participatory gender and social inclusion methodologies.
  • Experience in developing and applying policies and strategies.
  • Previous experience in gender, social inclusion and programming in Government and NGOs.
