Job Description

Nchalo Green Belt Limited is a company incorporated in 2016 in Malawi as a joint venture between the Nchalo Smallholder Cane Growers Association and the Government of Malawi as one of the initiatives under the Greenbelt Project. Nchalo Greenbelt Ltd has signed an agreement for the cultivation of cotton with ADMARC. The company is currently developing 1,400 hectares of land at Nkhwazi in Nchalo and Mwanawanjovu to that effect and a number of vacancies have arisen at our Head Office in Nchalo, Chikwawa.

Human Resource Specialist

Scope of duties and responsibilities

  • Dealing with employee queries professionally and courteously, both over the phone and face to face
  • Liaising with line managers to assess recruitment requirements -and decide how those requirements are to be met
  • Interviewing external and internal candidates, and make selection decisions.
  • Performing reference checks on applicants.
  • Liaising with line managers over disciplinary matters, grievances and welfare meetings, providing advice as necessary
  • Entering and updating information in the HR computer system, and producing reports using any Microsoft Office package
  • Advising management on appropriate levels of compensation basing on rates prevailing on the market

Required qualifications and experience

  • A Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • A minimum of 3 years in an HR role
  • Excellent communication, admin, planning, organizational and prioritizing skills
  • A flexible, friendly, professional and confident attitude
