Job Description

FDH Financial Holdings Limited is looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of IT Infrastructure Specialist tenable in Blantyre. This position reports to the Senior Manager – IT.


Position: IT Infrastructure Specialist


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB


To provide primary technical support to the Group by ensuring timely installations, maintenance and resolution of technical faults on critical IT services in order to ensure availability of the Group’s application systems to Business Units and customers

Major responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure maximum availability of critical IT equipment in line with set standards
  • Maintenance of equipment
  • Security of IT infrastructure
  • Project implementation and Support
  • Resolution of incidents
  • Design of new infrastructure
  • Ensure backup of critical information
  • Management of IT Data Centre equipment
  • Management of IT servers


Minimum level of Education

  • Bachelor of Information Technology or its equivalent


Experience

  • The job holder is required to have 5 years of relevant experience in IT Infrastructure management

In addition, he/she should:
  • Have sound knowledge and three yeaititrs experience in the maintenance and support of computers and other related equipment
  • Should be able to communicate easily with non-technical members of staff in the Bank on matters related to IT and exercise patience with users

Personal competencies
  • Excellent Technical skills in the following areas: NetApp Storage Systems VMWare Administration Windows Server 2012 Management Disaster Recovery Online Replication Internet Access Management

(Those without the below skills need not apply)
  • Ability to perform well under pressure without compromising work standards
  • Self-motivated and energetic
  • Ability to readily adapt to changes in systems and procedures
  • Team player
