Job Description

IM Swedish Development Partner is a Swedish value-based member organization with no party-political or religious affiliation. IM’s vision is a fair and humane world and the mission is to fight and expose poverty and exclusion. IM empowers civil society, catalyzing profound societal change towards equality and democracy as a feminist and anti-racist change agent. IM is looking for two (2) interns to contribute towards realization of societal change for the excluded groups that will ultimately contribute to increased democracy and equality in Malawi.


Program Development Support Intern


Key roles and responsibilities

  • Assist Programme Officers in providing technical support and capacity development to all partners in Malawi, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe
  • Assist Programme Officers in effective program planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning (PMEL) and reporting of all programs in line with IM Results Framework,
  • Assist Programme Officers in the engagement of partner organizations and target groups to identify learning and ensure that lessons are incorporated in programme implementation.
  • Assist in evaluating partners’ activity plans, budgets, financial and narrative reports submitted by partner organizations and provide constructive feedback to the partners where necessary.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support to the Country and Regional Teams in programme management ie communication to partners, booking flights and accommodation for training and monitoring visits both local and international, filing, minute taking etc

Required qualifications and criteria
  • Be qualified to degree level from recognized university in relevant areas — Social Science, Economics. or Development Management preferably with merit pass.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems, HTML, Microsoft Office.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated interest in working with youth and women.
