Job Description

Nkhamenya Community Hospital is a Catholic Health Facility of Mzuzu Diocese.

It operates under the Health Commission of the Diocese whose mandate is to ensure that the health services that the Catholic Church provides in the Diocese are accessible to the rural masses and the quality of care being provided is in line with the professional standards and in the footsteps of Jesus Christ the founder of the healing ministry.

POSITION: SENIOR NURSING SISTER ( GRADE J)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Liaising with other hospital sections to ensure that patients receive appropriate treatment.
  • Reviewing patients previously treated.
  • Conducting family planning, under-five and antenatal clinics.
  • Ordering drugs and wards resources.
  • Managing intensive care unit.
  • Supervising the recording of data in relevant registers.
  • Supervising the analysis of information and their dissemination to all relevant stakeholders including submission of weekly reports to designated officer.
  • Carries out any other Nursing activities as directed by the Sister In-Charge, Nursing Officer or the designated other.

THE CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES:
  • Be a practicing Christian.
  • Have a minimum of a Diploma in General nursing and Certificate in Midwifery and Psychiatry from a recognized training institution and must be registered with relevant professional body or M.C.E plus Certificate in Nursing & Midwifery
  • At least a minimum of 2 years experience working on a similar role.
  • Willingness to work during odd hours.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have high level of work organization and a result oriented individual with a passion for performance improvement and flexibility in approach and attitude.


REMUNERATION:

A competitive remuneration package in line with Government of Malawi/CHAM remuneration system will be offered to the successful applicant.
