Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for development practitioners! BLM is looking for a dynamic individual to work as a TEMPORARY PROJECT MANAGER on a UNFPA funded project to support Malawi Government Clinics for 2 Months. The Candidate is expected to start work as soon as possible (Immediately) and once S/he delivers on this project, there might be an opportunity for a long term engagement within the BLM Programmes Team.

Brief Role and Personal Specification

The Main Purpose of this role is to take a lead in the management of Project activities which involves immediate upgrade of 2 facilities with youth Friendly structure / facilities before the end of December, 2019. The person must have worked in any role, qualified in any field but must have skills in Project management, Civil or construction works supervision in WASH projects, Hospitals, General Building works and maintenance. Highly organized and with an ability to deliver outcomes with strict timelines.

The Temporary Project Manager is expected to have at least the following;

  • Experience in delivering construction projects (hospital settings added advantage)
  • Strong communication/ negotiation skills and attention to detail
  • Experienced managing donor funded budgets
  • Knowledge of handling donor compliance requirements
  • Self-starter and motivated to deliver on time and work under tight deadlines
  • Ideally experience working with government / District stakeholders
  • Ability to travel
