Job Description

The National Construction Industry Council (NCIC) was created by Malawi Government through an Act of Parliament (Cap 53.05) of the Lawn of Malawi to promote, regulate and develop the Construction Industry in Malawi.

The Council is Inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Assistant Internal Audit Officer (Grade 6) tenable at the National Construction Industry Council Headquarters in Lilongwe. This position in on permanent and pensionable terms

Position: Assistant Internal Audit Officer (Grade 6) 

Key Responsibilities and Tasks include the following:

  • Assist the Internal Audit Manager in developing risk-based audit plano, budget and timelines for assigned audit engagements,
  • Provide assistance to the Internal Audit Manager to complete planned annual audit within preset deadlines.
  • Assist developing audit scope and audit programs for assigned Audit engagements using creative risk-based audit techniques for operational efficiency,
  • Perform high quality professional internal audit assignments
  • Prepare internal audit working papers for review by the Internal Audit Manager
  • Prepare preliminary audit reports of assignments for review.
  • Periodically, conduct follow up audits and ensure that previous audit recommendations are implemented and errors are properly resolved
  • Assist in conducting investigations
  • Any other work-related activities assigned by the Internal Audit Manager

Desired Qualifications

  • A minimum of Bachelors’ degree in Accountancy, or Internal Auditing or Business Administration or Ito equivalent

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a busy work environment with ability to work independently, without close supervision and ability to use own initiative.
