Position : Early Years Room Leader


Located in Sunnyside, Blantyre, our welcoming Early Years Department is now seeking a Room Leader (working at Level 3 CACHE, and with proven aptitude) to join our team from January 2020. For this role, you will be overseen by a Teacher, but responsible for leading the education of a year group of children, and for cover and support across the department, as part of our dynamic Early Years Team. We are passionate about developing the unique child and building a strong supportive network within the community. You will be a confident and experienced decision maker, and be able to use your initiative and flexibility to work seamlessly as part of a team. You will be able to manage support staff, and conduct appropriately professional relationships with colleagues and parents at all times. About the Role – Room Leader (TA4)
  • Demonstrable and excellent Early Years practice, and an understanding of policies and procedures that promote excellent practice in Early Years.
  • A sound knowledge of the EYFS, planning, assessment, and safeguarding procedures, plus understanding of how to use Development Matters framework to ensure good progress.
  • Supervisory skills: ensure the smooth running and implementation of high quality child care in the room.
  • Excellent communication skills and positive willingness to learn and develop, and participate fully in the wider life of the school.
