Job Description

Project Overview and Scope of Work

The Newborn Essential Solutions and Technologies (NEST) program aims to implement comprehensive newborn care through innovative lifesaving technologies, the provision of both technical and clinical capacity-building, implementation of clinical and technical educational programs and the building of a sustainable distribution network. The Human Factors Researcher will be engaged in all aspects of system usability research/ evaluations using a variety of methods. He/ She works with external partners to advance health technologies towards commercialization and adoption.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the evaluation of selected health technologies within a human factors context
  • Assists in the evaluation of training programs developed for selected medical devices
  • Interacts regularly with nurses and clinicians for feedback on implementation and improvement of medical device design
  • Participates in the design, planning and implementation of research studies
  • Prepares high quality reports for project management as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Organizational Reporting: Reports to the Director of Human Factors

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences, Psychology, Engineering or related discipline
  • Working experience in data collection, data cleaning and analysis
  • Experience working in a clinical research environment
  • Strong analytical, writing and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a team environment, including ability to coordinate effectively with diverse individuals and stakeholders to achieve results
  • Ability to travel as needed
