Job Description

The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) is an advocacy and governance arm of the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM). COP will be implementing a project aimed at improving the lives of persons with albinism in Malawi by promoting and protecting their human rights to access healthcare and justice as fundamental entitlements. To this end, CCJP seeks to engage a Project Accountant for this project to be stationed in Zomba Diocese. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates of Malawi origin to fill the positions of Project Accountant tenable at Zomba Diocese COP offices in Zomba.

Position: Project Accountant  

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accountancy or a recognised professional certificate in Accounting and membership to a recognised body of professional accountants;
  • Wide experience and knowledge of the various accounting practices and procedures as well as attention to detail;
  • Ability to analyse financial problems coupled with knowledge of computer-based accounting systems/ applications preferably QuickBooks.
Person should be;
  • Self-motivated, dynamic and ability to achieve desired goal results;
  • Exposed to international firms with tight reporting deadlines;
  • High level of personal and professional integrity;
  • Be computer literate;
  • Be familiar with Catholic Church structure and Catholic Social Teachings.
