Prosper Markets Project Manager

Job Description

Kadale Consultants is delivering the markets component of the four-year project Promoting Sustainable Partnerships for Empowered Resilience (PROSPER), funded by the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID). We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the in-country leadership team at our offices in Lilongwe.


Position: Project Manager


Position Overview


To manage the project-level activity for PROSPER Markets, particularly on policies, procedures, compliance, controls and reporting. To ensure PROSPER Markets is managed in compliance with DFID, Concern Worldwide (Consortium Lead) and Kadale policies and procedures. To work with the Finance and Operations Manager to manage operational risks and drive for Value for Money.

Person Specifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience in project management and/ or financial management roles in large donor-funded projects. Experience of managing DFID projects and/or Market Systems / Private Sector Development /Agriculture / Agribusiness project will be an advantage.
  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business, Finance or similar related degree.
  • Proven leadership ability and experience in a project management capacity, with line management experience for multiple staff.
  • Good understanding of financial accounting and management accounting practices. A formal accounting qualification will be an advantage
  • Experience of managing operations, procurement, client relations, controls, logistics and human resource issues. In particular, a proven ability to understand donor compliance requirements and translate them into practical actions.
  • Experience of working in a commercially orientated organisation, such as a consultancy, will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Value for Money frameworks and reporting will be an advantage
