Located in Sunnyside, Blantyre, our welcoming Early Years Department is now seeking a Teaching Assistant (with a minimum qualification of MSCE/GCSEs English and maths A-C, and with proven aptitude in childcare) to join our team from January 2020. For this role, you will be overseen by a Teacher and responsible for supporting the education and development of early years children, as part of our dynamic Early Years Team. We are passionate about developing the unique child and developing the ‘whole child’ You will be a confident team player, able to use your initiative appropriately, and a great communicator. You will be flexible and able to work seamlessly as part of a team to get the job done. You will support and assist other teaching assistant staff, and conduct appropriately professional relationships with colleagues and parents at all times. About the Role – Teaching Assistant (TA3)
Deputises for the Room Leader or Class teacher by leading the class under supervision, or, when required to cover, following directions and being confident in the routines and boundaries of the room; this includes managing challenging behaviour, spotting changes in children’s behaviour, and working out how to help children progress in the moment.
Adapts resources and teaching response to the needs of the children and contributes to planning and assessment.
Excellent communication skills and positive willingness to learn and develop, and participate fully in the wider life of the school.
