Job Description

The Malawi Interfaith AIDS Association (MIAA) was established in 2003 as an interfaith service agency to play a pivotal role in the coordination and facilitation of HIV and AIDS programming in the country. The main aim of the Secretariat is to facilitate a united commitment of Faith Communities in the tight against HIV and AIDS.

MIAA provides an institutional framework for implementing strategies in the fight against and mitigating the impact of HIV and AIDS by the Faith Based Organizations. The significant role of the MIAA through its Secretariat is to facilitate and coordinate the implementation of HIV and AIDS programmes by the various faith based institutions and organizations through the already established religious structures in the country.

To beef up our operations, MIAA is inviting application from suitably qualified Malawian candidates to fill the following vacant position tenable at the Secretariat in Lilongwe as soon as possible.



Supervisor: HR and Administration Officer

Department : Finance and Administration

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the HR and Administration Officer; the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Responsible for the safe use of the vehicle assigned to him or her
  • Only undertake journeys that are authorised the appropriate supervisor
  • Abide by all MIAA driving rules and transport policies
  • Carrying out daily and weekly checks on the vehicle as set out in the log book
  • Report all faults, maintenance needs and incidents/ accidents to the supervisor
  • Complete the vehicle log books and sheet on a daily basis
  • Ensuring that all equipment allocated to the vehicle are complete and in good working order. including spare tyres and other equipment before undertaking any trip
  • Ensuring that before the undertaking any trip that the vehicle is in good working condition, clean and appropriately equipped and has adequate fuel for the intended trip
  • Ensuring that all supplies and equipment to be carried are accompanied by appropriate paper work, packed and stowed away safely and securely

  • Holder Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
  • Holder of authorised passage driving License with 5 years relevant experience in driving organisational vehicle
  • Holder of current defensive driving certificates

  • Mechanical experience of Motor vehicles
  • Good Knowledge and skills of computers will be an added advantage
  • Good Communications skills both written and oral in English and major Local Languages in Malawi will be a plus
