Job Description

Emmanuel International Malawi is a faith based organization working with rural communities in Malawi in Relief and Development since 1987. Emmanuel International Malawi is implementing Development Food Security Activities Project known as Titukulane Project, meaning (Let us work together for development). This Project is for five years and it will be implemented in Mangochi District. The Titukulane Project intends to focus on six program areas: Agriculture, Maternal and Child Health, Water Supply and Sanitation, Civil Society Disaster Readiness and Private Sector Productivity. The Project will both build capacities of women, men, girls and boys, and address systematic weaknesses that limit opportunities and reduce the likelihood of sustained outcomes. Applications are therefore welcome for the following vacant positions as follows:

Job Title: M & E Coordinator

Reports: Deputy Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Cooperates at consortium level with all required M&E interventions and documentation related to the project all the times.
  • Attends relevant technical working group meetings to strengthen technical knowhow of Monitoring and evaluation issues time to time.
  • Leads in the design of an effective and participatory
  • Monitoring and Evaluation system to ensure an updated and shared understanding of the system and its information needs
  • Maintains proper record keeping including the hard copies of information all the times for future reference
  • Receives and disseminates all the proper report forms and updated information in a timely manner
  • Reviews the logical framework to guide the process for identifying and designing the key indicators for each project component, to record and report progress
  • Analyzes data collected against targets to improve quality of implementation
  • Participates in periodic monitoring and evaluation activities, such as operations research and DQA as required all the times
  • Guides the process for identifying the key performance questions and parameters for monitoring projects performance and comparing to targets/Milestones
  • Works with technical and implementation staff to ensure easy access to monitoring and evaluation reports and data to make sure they are widely distributed within the organization and relevant government stakeholders
  • Ensures that the project have well defined monitoring and evaluation frame work with clear goals, outcomes, outputs, inputs, processes, indicators data needs and sources for the project implementation performance management
  • Maintains an up-to-date and comprehensive databases and coordinate data quality assessments all the times.

  • Degree in relevant fields(Social Sciences, Demography, Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Project Management, Developmental Studies)
  • Minimum five years’ experience in Project Monitoring and Evaluation in a Project of similar complexity.
  • Knowledge of computer management skills, including but not limited to database generation and maintenance, statistical analysis software (SPSS/STATA) and MS Office applications
  • Ability to transfer knowledge through formal and informal trainings Strong analytical, quantitative and qualitative research skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results on time
