Job Description

Habitat for Humanity Malawi (HFHM), affiliated to Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit Christian organization aiming at improving housing conditions in Malawi. HFHM was established in 1986 and has assisted over 41,000 families through different housing solutions. in addition to housing, HFHM has undertaken water and sanitation projects in pert-urban areas of Lilongwe, Chikwawa and zuzu.

Habitat for Humanity Malawi (HFHM) is in the process of recruiting volunteers, interns and temporary staff to support Disaster Risk Response and Reduction (DRRR), Volunteer Relations, WASH (Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEAL) and Finance departments



Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEAL) Volunteers and Interns



Department: Programs

Reporting : The Intern will report to the MEAL Coordinator

Duty Station : Lilongwe

Main responsibilities

  • Works with MEAL Coordinator to develop MEAL plans, implement assessments and create log frames for proposal development.
  • Conducts data collections and analysis as needed for protect reports
  • Conducts research and develops learning documents on project implementation
  • Supports MEAL Coordinator in development and implementation of M&E systems and policies
  • Assists in creation and revision of data collection tools
  • Participate in data management, such as data cleaning, creation of databases, etc g.
  • Support in the development of data visualizations for program management and communications materials, such as graphs, charts, and maps
  • Supports in review of project reports and supports teams to track program progress toward HFHM program indicators
  • Other duties as assigned

Educational Qualification

  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and have at least one year of work experience

Skills and Competencies Required

  • Proved capacity to collect, process and analyze complex data and information;
  • Relevant experience :n results based management, reporting, monitoring and evaluation or any other related field;
  • Strong IT skills;
  • Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude, pro-activity.
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity by modelling HFHM’s values and ethical standards.
  • Promote the vision, mission and strategic goals of HFHM
  • Excellent communication skills
